The Elements of Fall

Updated: Feb 23

And just like that ...

We are in the season of Fall.

Not only is Fall the season of giving thanks — it is also the season of Letting Go.

But this question naturally arises: How do we incorporate lifestyle changes alongside seasonal changes?

One way to navigate the seasons is through foods + routines.

Ayurveda — India's ancient medical science, rooted in holistic wellness practices, recommends alleviating the drying winds of autumn (which can incite restlessness + anxiety) with grounding qualities that are warm + moist.

Consider Changing Foods

Fall Herbs + Spices:

cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, clove, tulsi tea

Foods to favor:

apples, cranberries, dates, beets, oats, avocado

Try to reduce:

caffeine, raw foods, popcorn

Try this simple breakfast that is nourishing + grounding. Bake or cook apples on your stovetop with ghee + a mix of clove, ginger, cardamom, cinnamon (use spices that you like). Add any of the following: chopped figs, dates, cranberries or raisins. Choose what you like. Cook through and serve warm.
